In honor of Dorcas Awolumate, a courageous warrior who battled breast cancer with unwavering resilience, Scion’s Hope is devoted to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer through the power of community, education, and meaningful action. Tabitha, known to her loved ones as Dorcas, fought with an unyielding hope—not only for her own healing but for a future where the treatment of cancer would be gentler, more humane, and continually advancing. Her vision was a cure that wouldn’t rely solely on harsh methods like chemotherapy but would evolve to offer genuine, lasting healing for all affected by this devastating disease.

Dorcas' legacy of compassion and generosity continues through Scion of Tabitha (SOT), a nonprofit built to honor her lifelong commitment to giving back. She leaves behind four children—her “scions”—who now carry forward her dreams of change and her deep-seated hope for a cure. Through Scion’s Hope, SOT is building a community of fighters, survivors, and advocates committed to raising awareness, fostering strength, and inspiring hope within a community where it’s easy to lose sight of it.

Guided by Dorcas' vision, Scion’s Hope will be a movement dedicated to those impacted by cancer—whether patients, survivors, or their loved ones. Through fundraisings, educational workshops, seminars, and other impactful events, we aim to empower individuals and honor Dorcas’ legacy, helping to inspire hope in the face of one of life’s hardest battles.
