Job Summary

The Communications, Media & Impact Associate is responsible for both capturing impact in the field and driving the organization’s digital presence and growth online. This role goes beyond documentation and requires someone who can translate real stories into compelling content that grows our audience, increases engagement, and strengthens our visibility.

The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a digital strategist—someone who can capture powerful moments and turn them into content that inspires action, builds community, and attracts supporters.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Social Media Management

  • Create and design high-quality graphics using tools such as Canva

  • Edit and produce engaging video content using CapCut or similar tools

  • Write compelling, mission-driven captions for all social media posts

  • Manage and maintain consistency across all social media platforms

  • Post content consistently based on the organization’s content calendar

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Actively respond to DMs, comments, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Build and engage with online communities to increase visibility and reach

  • Monitor engagement, track performance, and adjust content strategies accordingly

  • Contribute ideas that support audience growth and brand awareness

Impact Documentation (Field Work)

  • Visit program locations 1–2 times per month to capture real-life impact stories

  • Record beneficiary testimonials, program activities, and community interactions

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos that reflect authenticity and dignity

  • Assist in gathering content for reports, donor updates, and campaigns

Field Expectations

  • Must be available for field visits at least 2–3 times per month

  • Must be comfortable working in community-based environments

  • Transportation and logistics for field visits will be covered by the organization

Equipment Requirements

  • Must own a high-quality smartphone capable of recording clear video

  • Must be able to independently capture clear audio and stable video footage

  • Must have devices (i.e., laptops, tablet, desktop) to create graphics, edit videos, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be located in Lagos State (Mainland preferred)

  • Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, and Notion is required

  • Experience in social media management, content creation, or storytelling preferred

  • Strong understanding of content that drives engagement and growth

  • Ability to create visually appealing and emotionally engaging content

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Passion for nonprofit work, storytelling, and community impact
